The Invisalign Process
Understanding the entire Invisalign process can boost your confidence in choosing this treatment, whether for yourself or someone else.
Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation, Dr. Albert will evaluate your dental concerns to determine if Invisalign is suitable for you or your child. This involves a thorough examination of your mouth to decide if Invisalign is the right treatment option. If you are a candidate, you will discuss the treatment protocol and estimated treatment duration.
Customized Aligners
Based on your individual treatment plan, custom aligners are created specifically for you. These aligners are made from a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums.
Aligner Pick-up and Fitting
When your Invisalign trays are ready, Dr. Albert may install small, almost invisible attachments to help keep the trays in place. These are painless to install and temporary. After fitting your aligners, you will receive instructions on their use and care. You will wear your aligners daily, removing them only to eat, brush, and floss.
Progress and Adjustments
As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gradually shift into place. You won't need regular appointments like with metal braces, but periodic check-ins will monitor your progress.
Treatment Duration
Depending on the complexity of your case, the treatment can be as short as 6 months, with noticeable results in just weeks. Typically, Invisalign treatment lasts between 6 to 18 months. For optimal results, wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day throughout the treatment.
